Holidays

As we get closer to the holidays, I start to think about where I want to focus my research in the coming year. It's nice to get together with family for Thanksgiving and this year, particularly, will be sweet. My family is all vaccinated so we will get together and visit. There will be moments, though, that you can just sit and think. I like to sit at the table in my library and write a plan on what I want to focus. This year, I plan to focus on my husband's family. Writing your Family Story

Well, I've finished writing my family stories for my book. I incorporated events that were happening at the time. This social history really adds to the events in my stories. Another thing I did was to add some dates. For example, do you know what day of the week you were born? What about the day your mother was born? As they say, there's an app for that! Actually, there is a website that can calculate what day of the week you were born. The site is called WolframAlph

New Projects

Now that I'm not busy with the details of the conference, it's time to outline what I want to do this coming year. I know it's not the new year, but it's time to get started for me. I will be visiting my son through the end of December and I want to organize my own schedule. In between listening to webinars, talking classes, and researching all those cousins that I skipped over when I started with genealogy, I will devote some of my time to starting a new (for me) kind of
