We all keep repeating that a man's first name in Mexican records is Jose and that a woman's is Maria. Most times, the people will be called by their second name (I don't want to say middle because there might be several), but not always. Jose Antonio or Jose Roberto won't always be referred to as Antonio or Roberto. I was searching for gr-gr-gr grandparents, Jose Julian Sanchez and maria Rosalia Rodriguez. I expected to find Julian married to Rosalia. Instead I found Jose married to Maria; neither had their middle name listed. And you can imagine how difficult it was to find the correct Jose married to my Maria. I really had to rely on what I knew about them.
