Researching Your Story
I recently started to write my uncle's story for the book that I'm writing about my family. I had interview my uncle a number of years ago because I was interested in his experience as POW during World War II. He had been captured in Germany and was held for about a year in a POW camp. I was able to get his story while in the camp. However, I knew that I did not have enough information about the camp itself. Luckily, the internet is always changing and evolving. I was able to find the location of the POW camp in Germany. Not only that, but I was able to find information about the camp itself. It gave my story richness and body that would otherwise have been just facts from my uncle. So even if you have information about someone in your family that you got years ago, it doesn't hurt to turn to the internet to see if you can get more information.
